Our standard General English Course consists of 20 lessons per week from Monday to Friday focussing on developing the key language skills. Boost your confidence in social situations, international travel and everyday communication through intensive speaking practice which will expand your spoken repertoire and enhance your pronunciation.

Intensive English + Task-based Learning

Choose our intensive course for more parid progression. Study an additional 6 lessons on three afternoons per week. These lessons focus on further developing your langauge skills through project work and task based learning focussing on irish culture and dynamic topics including technology, innovation and social media.

Intensive English + IELTS Preparation

Study 20 lessons General English in the morning and add 6 lessons of IELTS preparation on 3 afternoons per week from Tuesday to Thursday. Our experienced teachers will provide expert guidance on preparing for the IELTS exam. Learn exam techniques to help you achieve your best IELTS score, while regular exam practice will help you to be fully prepared on the day of your exam.

  • Understand how IELTS exams are structured and how to improve your overall score 
  • Intensive one-to-one speaking practice on a range of common interview topics 
  • Develop vocabulary, fluency and your ability to interact with the examiner 
  • Targeted individual feedback on your IELTS writing 
  • Develop your listening and reading comprehension skills through interesting content

ELA is committed to a dynamic teaching environment ensuring a productive and successful learning experience for each student. The average number of students per class is 12 with a maximum of 15 students per class.

All ELA teachers are experienced, qualified and fully accredited and maintain the high level of excellence of University College Dublin (UCD).

Students will receive a UCD ELA Certificate of Completion.
