Excellent Sports Facilities
UCD is proud to have the best campus sports facilities in the country. Our students love to enjoy the extensive range of sporting and leisure facilities available right here on campus. We offer over 325 acres to explore, with numerous off-road tracks and trails, so our campus is ideal for joggers and walkers just as much as it is for swimmers and gym lovers.
Access to University sports facilities and swimming pool is not included on programme fees and is dependent on the general availability of the facility.
Swimming Pool
Dublin's newest 50 metre pool opened at UCD Sport & Fitness in June 2012. The revolutionary design and mechanics allow the pool depth to change to accommodate swimmers with all levels of ability. With dedicated 50 metre slow, medium and fast paced lanes, the pool is accessible to everyone. The latest in pool treatment and filtration technology means the chlorine levels are so low you will feel like you are swimming in fresh spring water.
UCD Sport and Fitness
The award winning new gym at UCD Sport and Fitness is perfect for complete beginners or regular gym users. Look and feel your best while you study here at UCD. Everything is made simple and easy for you to get started, with the best equipment and friendly trainers always on hand to help.

The six pitches, which are floodlit, can be booked for five-a-side games by UCD students and the general public.
Tennis Courts
The newly refurbished, sand filled synthetic grass Tennis Courts are popular among students, staff and the public and appeal to players of all ages. The courts are floodlit and equipment is available to rent from the UCD Sport reception desk. Courts can also be booked up to seven days in advance.
Student Centre Facilities
The UCD Student Centre and UCD Sport & Fitness are at the heart of student life in UCD.
UCDâs Student Centre and Sport & Fitness Centre are at the heart of student life in UCD. The recently completed extension provides you with the most diverse and modern student facility in Ireland. It has plenty to offer; swimming pool, cinema, debating chamber, dance studio, drama theatre, sauna, jacuzzi and outdoor pitches, there is something for everyone.
You can watch the latest blockbusters and classic films in our state of the art 3D cinema. You will also find a 600-seat auditorium, meeting rooms, a new TV studio, radio pod, seminar room, a medical centre, pharmacy, barbers, newsagents and a host of great places to eat or just chill out. There is also the UCD Club House bar, where you can meet friends, chat, relax and watch some sport on the big screens.
